Hong Sheng joined CAIS in 2013 and has more than 10 years of experience in analytical chemistry, focusing on sample preparation, testing, data analysis, and trouble shooting. Ms. Sheng is skilled at wet chemistry and the use of instruments such as ICP-OES, GC, and UV-VIS Spec. Her major responsibilities include overseeing the graphitization of CO2 samples for AMS analyses; and maintaining reaction lines and vacuum systems in optimal condition. In addition, Ms. Sheng pretreats plant, charcoal and soil samples for stable isotope and radiocarbon analysis, extracts collagen and bioapatite from bone samples, and CO2 from shell and water.
