Tret Burdette

Tret Burdette, Ph.D., joined CAIS in 2024 as a Post-Doctoral associate within the Laboratory for Environmental Analysis (LEA). Dr. Burdette graduated with a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Georgia in 2023. During his graduate studies he collected marine and aerosol particle samples during field campaigns to Skidaway Island, the Delaware Bay, and the Sargasso Sea. Dr. Burdette analyzed these samples to characterize the organic composition using high resolution mass spectrometry, with an emphasis on surfactants. After graduating, Dr. Burdette took a Post-Doctoral fellowship position in 2023 at the Gangarosa Department of Environmental Health at Emory University to work with Dr. Amina Salamova. During this period, Dr. Burdette performed method development work for the detection of environmental contaminants in environmental and biological samples. In his current position, Dr. Burdette is working with Dr. Sayed Hassan to operate the LEA and conduct research on environmental contaminants.
