Sarah Jantzi

Sarah C. Jantzi, Ph.D. joined CAIS in 2018 to manage the Plasma Chemistry Laboratory, and is developing laser ablation and LC speciation techniques to complement the ICP-MS and ICP-OES services offered. She has 18+ years of analytical chemistry experience in forensics, geology, biotechnology, regulatory testing, and agronomy applications. Her recent research includes U-Pb in zircons and trace elements in fish otoliths, heroin, glass, soil, and chemical taggants. Sarah has a B.Sc. (Hons.) in chemistry and forensic science with a minor in anthropology from the University of Toronto and a Masters in analytical chemistry and criminalistics from the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1. She completed her Ph.D. and post-doctoral research at Florida International University. She has managed elemental analysis facilities at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Florida International University. She enjoys mentoring students, troubleshooting, and improving analytical methods.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys travel, languages, music, volley-ball, and the outdoors.
