Instrumentation
The
CAIS has been active in LS counting research for over three decades,
working with various instrument manufacturers to focus on advancements
in low-level LS counting systems. Three different counter designs
are now in use at the Center, including a low-background instrument
that uses a pulse shape discrimination circuit to simultaneously
count environmental samples for alpha and beta activities.
