Field-Deployable Tritium Analysis System

The CAIS has developed and tested the Field-Deployable Tritium Analysis System (FDTAS) to perform near real-time, in situ analysis of tritium in surface and ground water samples. The FDTAS can be deployed in the field and controlled remotely by a technician in a laboratory. The unit can be programmed to collect and analyze water samples using a portable LS counter optimized with a background reduction system. Tritium concentrations as low as 10 Bq/L (~270 pCi/L) can be determined.
